HEY I’M CAMILLA VINDELSKOG - CBT THERAPIST AND CERTIFIED INTUITIVE EATING COUNSELLOR.
From a very young age, I was hyper-aware of my body and the unspoken “rules” that seemed to govern it.
By the time I was ten, I was already turning to food for comfort when I felt lonely or rejected, while also feeling deep shame and anxiety about my body. Diets, strict control, and punishment became my coping mechanism. By my teens, I’d spiralled into orthorexia, bulimia, bingeing, and purging. Even after stopping behaviours that met clinical criteria for an eating disorder, the constant background hum of anxiety around food and my body never left.
It wasn’t until I discovered intuitive eating in 2011 that I began to see another way. Slowly, I learned that my body could regulate itself, that restriction only increased fixation, and that freedom around food was possible. Over years of practice and learning, I reached a place where food and my body no longer held me back, a place of curiosity, trust, and peace.
Through my own journey, I realised so many women are trapped in the same exhausting cycle, believing there’s no way out.
That insight inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others: combining the strategies that worked for me with years of clinical training and experience, to guide women toward the same ease, confidence, and peace.
Before founding my practice, I spent over a decade working as a social worker and counsellor in a residential treatment unit for adolescents and their families. There I learned that you can’t isolate behaviours - you have to see the whole person. People’s struggles with food, their bodies, or self-worth are shaped by their history, their circumstances, and the resources available to them.
For the women I work with now, this perspective is at the heart of everything I do. I understand that the cycle of restricting, bingeing, body anxiety and fixation isn’t about weakness or lack of willpower. It’s a human response to years of pressure, expectation, and conflicting messages from society.
MY UNIQUE 4-LEVEL APPROACH
My signature approach blends Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Intuitive Eating with nervous system regulation.
-
Level 1: Find Your Why
Before anything practical can shift, you need to connect with what you actually want, not another set of rules, but a genuine sense of direction and meaning. This is about finding your why: what matters to you, what you want your life to feel like beyond food and body anxiety. Without this foundation, any new approach just becomes another diet in disguise. Everything else rests on this.
-
Level 2: Restore Safety
Your body has spent years on high alert from restriction, rules, and unpredictability around food. It can’t think clearly or make calm choices when it’s in survival mode. This level is about restoring physiological safety: eating enough, eating regularly, and learning to trust your body’s signals again. Once your nervous system starts to settle, deeper work becomes possible.
-
Level 3 - Respond, Don't React
Now that your why is clear and your body feels safer, you can begin to notice thoughts, urges, and feelings without being controlled by them. This level is about choosing how to respond instead of reacting automatically. This is where real freedom around food emerges, where cravings and anxiety stop driving you, and you start to feel in control of your choices rather than trapped by them.
-
Level 4: Thrive in Life
When the foundation is solid, freedom and vitality aren’t something you force, they emerge naturally. This isn’t just about peace with food - it’s reclaiming the time, energy, and presence that was previously consumed by body and food worry. This is the life you’re building toward: fully living, fully present and finally at peace.
I believe that our worth is not defined by the size of our bodies, the foods we eat, or how disciplined we are.
Diet culture teaches us to chase an impossible ideal, instilling fear, shame, and obsession. My work dismantles those harmful narratives and builds a new one: one where your body is an ally, not an enemy, and where your life isn’t dictated by restriction, fear, or comparison.
I don’t start with “love your body” - for someone who’s spent years hating their body, that’s rarely realistic. Instead, we focus on peace: reducing the mental space your body and food take up, so you can look in the mirror, maybe like what you see or not, and then move on.
Much of what we feel about our bodies is learned. Diet culture and narrow beauty standards have taught us that worth equals size. Body acceptance isn’t about the reflection in the mirror, it’s about reclaiming your life. It’s the freedom to stop letting your body be the barrier between you and living fully.
